Charitable Foundation “WEYS.” wins a grant competition for the restoration of private households in the city of Izyum in Kharkiv region

Izyum was occupied by russian troops from early April to September 10, 2022. According to local authorities, during the stay of the Russian army in the city, 80% of the infrastructure was destroyed and the heating system was broken.

Our volunteers visited the city in early April 2024 and met with residents who were to receive assistance.

The team of the charitable foundation has worked on preparing for a grant competition from HELVETAS, a Swiss organization that implements sustainable development initiatives around the world. The relevant documents were prepared and the grant application was filled out. After a while, we received a positive response.

“Now we are able to help restore housing for three households that were damaged by shelling. New windows and doors will be installed in the houses, and roof repairs are also planned,” - representatives of the charity foundation say.

The competition is held within the framework of the project “Support for Community Recovery in Eastern Ukraine”, implemented by Helvetas Schweiz as part of Switzerland's support to Ukraine and funded by Swiss Solidarity.
