History 📖

Lidiya, 66, has lived in the town of Seredyna-Buda in Sumy Oblast since 1968, almost all her life. She has a medical degree and is currently retired.

The first time her apartment was shelled was in June 2023, the second time was in September of the same year, and the third time was on 4 March 2024. In total, 5 double-glazed windows on the loggia and 1 window in the kitchen were damaged. 

The woman waited out the first shelling in the bathroom, and now she has left as an IDP. Due to the constant stress, Lidiya developed hypertension.

The local authorities provided film for temporary window repairs, but this is not enough for full recovery. Lydia herself is unable to bring the apartment to a habitable condition, so she turned to the Foundation for help.
