History 📖

Halyna, a pensioner, has lived all her life in the town of Seredyna-Buda in Sumy region. She used to work as a teacher and is now retired. She has 2 grown-up children and used to live with her parents, but they died.

In the autumn of 2023, Halyna's house came under shelling several times. In total, a window, a front door, 110 m² of the roof, a utility room, a garage and a fence were damaged. During one of the shelling, a mine fell directly on the roof of the house, it pierced the ceiling and floor, fortunately, it did not explode.

Halyna did not suffer any physical injuries, which cannot be said about her psychological state. Constant shelling, running through basements, burning houses, constant stress and fear all affected her emotional state.

The woman has covered the windows with film and chipboard on her own, but she has no money for a full recovery. So she turned to the Foundation for help.
