All his life, Vasyl Yakovych lived in the city of Bilopol'ya, Sumy region. Now retired, Chernobyl. Has children who have created their own families and live separately. Lives with his wife.

In April 2024, as a result of enemy shelling, the apartment of Vasyl Yakovych was damaged, namely the balcony block, the window in the room, the balcony door. The couple was in the apartment, they were not injured, but they were very scared, because of fear, the woman lived in the basement all week, insomnia began, they take sedatives. They covered the windows with film and plywood on their own.

They turn to the charity fund for help to replace the balcony block, windows, balcony doors.
