History 📖

On that May day in 2023, the Russians began shelling the town of Kostiantynivka in Donetsk Oblast at 5 a.m. Everyone in the Yakovlevs' house was still sound asleep: the head of the family, his son and his wife, and his grandchildren, aged 9 and 14. Only 62-year-old Lina Oleksiivna, a woman with a disability, had already woken up and gone outside.

Suddenly, a powerful explosion occurred near the house. The sharp ringing of broken window glass, the cracking of the roof over their heads - these sounds still echo in their memories. The youngest girl was especially frightened - the stress caused her hair to fall out, and she is currently being treated for baldness.

The adults, as soon as they recovered from the shock, began to restore the house: the broken windows were covered with OSB boards, the roof was covered with slate. The family needs help to fully repair the house.
