Valentyna Pavlivna, 70, and her husband live in the village of Znob-Trubchevske in Sumy region. Their village has been repeatedly shelled by the Russian military.
On December 16, 2023, 2 mines exploded 4 meters from their house at once. The pensioners were at home at the time and miraculously survived, the man's face was injured by the shrapnel. The blast wave blew all the glass out of the windows, shell fragments shattered the walls and destroyed the roof.
In order to live on, the couple sealed the windows with plastic wrap and covered the roof with tarpaulin. But these temporary measures do not allow people to live normally, especially in winter.
