Oleksandr Stepin has been living in Kostyantynivka since 1956, when he was born. His two children are now adults and live separately. In June 2022, the pensioner's house came under Russian shelling. A rocket exploded in the man's yard. He was just doing some housework at the time. The fact that he managed to hide behind a shed saved his life. But he sustained physical, psychological and moral injuries. A bruised back and contusion caused a microstroke, and his legs are failing. He needs treatment and constant medication. The roof, windows, fence and outbuildings of the house were completely destroyed. The poultry, which significantly supported the budget of the lonely pensioner, died. He began to restore the house on his own, with the help of his neighbors. He sealed the windows with film and covered the roof with slate. But even for these minor repairs, the pensioner had to go into debt, which he is still paying off. He received no help from the state
