Lida Yakivna was born in Myropillya, Sumy region. She has lived here all her life. She started a family here, and together with her husband raised two daughters, who are now living separately. Vira's husband was also born here and has lived in the village all his life. Now they are both retired. The woman used to work as a teacher.

However, the war broke into their lives. On August 23, 2023, the family's house was shelled by the Russian occupiers. The couple hid in the cellar. But the woman is having a very hard time psychologically enduring what is happening on her native land. She was very scared and even hospitalized with a micro-stroke.

However, people do not give up. They were able to restore 4 windows and the roof on their own. The front door and the fence in the yard remained damaged. With the restoration, people are asking for help.
