On 8 June, at 02:30, Sinnivka branch of Myropilskyi lyceum in Sumy region was damaged by a UAV "Shahed": a drone hit the canteen building attached to the school.
“Shahed” did not fully explode, which led to a fire. The SES responded in time and the fire was extinguished. Fortunately, there were no casualties that night. However, the blast wave damaged windows and doors, and damaged equipment in the dining room: boilers, sinks, plumbing, furniture... Part of the roof of the school building burned down.
The roof was completely repaired at the expense of the community and with the support of local deputies. With the help of a charitable organisation, tarpaulin and film were provided for temporary measures.
First of all, the school needs to replace 5 windows and 2 doors. In addition, 80 windows throughout the school need to be repaired: double-glazed windows and fittings need to be replaced.
Unfortunately, at present, children are studying remotely, as neither teachers nor students can be present in such conditions.
